Sports is one of the most common interests at Open Access BPO. So, when the Regent Aguila IronMan 70.3 Philippines was announced, triathletes in the company immediately signed up to participate.
The Regent Aguila Ironman 70.3 Philippines is one of the local events under the prestigious international Ironman Triathlon. It recent race took place in Mactan, Cebu last August 11, with Open Access BPO CEO Ben Davidowitz and employees Leo Penas and Clint Ortiz competing.
The event kickstarted with a 1.9-kilometer swim along Shangri-La Mactan’s beach, followed by a 90-kilometer bike course covering four Cebuano cities, and concluded with a 21-kilometer run along the roads of Punta Engano.
When asked about the challenges they faced during Ironman 70.3, Leo pointed out that the run was made even more difficult by the 92ยฐF heat. “What made the last course challenging was the humidity. It made it hard to breathe and stay hydrated.”
As with any IronMan event, the Cebu courses were a true test of strength and endurance for every participant. Being physically taxing made finishing the courses even more rewarding.
The Regent Aguila IronMan 70.3 Philippines is regarded as one of the most complete triathlons to date. Over 2,500 triathletes from 57 countries participated in the recent Cebu event.
